Greeting cards

When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it’s your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, the have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not. - Georgia O’Keeffe

"Homage", as featured in D-Photo magazine (issue 86, Oct/Nov 2018), is a limited edition softcover book printed on thick, luxurious paper. The book is an ode to Eryngium giganteum, a perennial thistle better known as Miss Willmott's Ghost, after 19th Century English gardener Ellen Willmott. Ellen loved its large, thorny flower heads with their extravagant veined ruffs. She carried its seeds in her pockets, and would surreptitiously scatter them in other people's carefully planned gardens.

Homage received a Silver award in the 2018 NZ Institute of Professional Photography Iris Awards and was a finalist in the book category.

It is also available at the QT Hotel in Wellington, where Catherine Cattanach is one of 19 artists commissioned to each create an art installation in one of the QT Art Rooms on Level Four.
